Hi guys, I was wondering if you could offer some tips. Does anyone have any tried and tested methods of working out on little food? Does drinking glucose powder help? I'm working out 5 times a week but having to eat more to stay focussed on school and everything else so have actually put weight on grr. How do you guys do it? If I don't eat and then do an hour of cardio I feel like I'm going to faint!

  1. hi there! what works for me is one batted egg (70g) mixed with some milk (30cl) and fried like a scrambled egg before working out. fry with no oil. it's about 100 kcals and a lot of protein for your muscles. i always add some curry spices and very little salt, jummy!
    take care, xx

  2. protein http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/unjury-protein/protein-containers.html if you can get it that one is the best I've been able to find and I'm pretty sure all of them are 80 cal or under (unflavored is 60) a scoop with at least 20g protein.
Half a scoop in a drink (I like crystal light with the unflavored) about 20minutes before workout and half in a drink to sip from while you're working out, take a sip every few minutes.

  3. drink green tea all the time. it boosts your energy, burns fat and makes it easier to work out longer.

  6. i go to the gym in the mornings and force myself through it, then come home and make myself my coffee freezocinos, which are very low and calories and completely fill you up. then you would have energy for school. or you could try doing it the other way around? i just blend a whole heap of ice, some coffee and some sugar together until it's thick but smooth. coz it's all liquid it does a good job at making you feel like you've eaten a lot and the caffeine will boost your energy levels.
    good luck xx

  7. I usually drink soymilk and that seems to give me a bit of energy to make it through a workout.

  8. I try to use that light headiness as a weapon ( when you start to fall like stumble eat a granola, but not until you start to stumble) , I see it as my body showing me that the body is using the stored energy called fat. Or restrict and allow your net gain ( intake-output=net gain) to be under 150 or even negative. ( some days I eat all day and gain -100 calories)

  9. i've noticed that the slimfast shakes actually fill me up extremely well. if you have one of those in the morning you'll stay focused and be able to work out later for a couple hours. they dont have a ton of calories and they're very filling. i have a ton of really good things to eat on my blog that aren't high in calories. check it out! wwww.urwhatueat11.blogspot.com goodluck**

  10. Spend your calories on protein - it'll last you longer than sugar.

  11. Lot's of water! If you drink a lot of water it keeps you feeling full through the workout. I do gymnastics for 4 hours a day on 800 calories on my highest days, but usually more around 450-550. Chewing gum always helps me alot. For some reason it takes the hunger away a bit. Also lots of celery. Tiny amount of calories, but the fiber keeps you full. Sometimes all I'll have in a day is a ca of tuna (190 calories) but it works!! Stay strong <3

  13. i workout at night because of my work schedule and i've been tuning my little tricks to keep myself from fainting. i drink water and green tea throughout the day and eat half of a banana or an apple in the morning and half in the afternoon. then on my really intense workout days, i blend frozen fruit with ice and a bit of soymilk for a smoothie and eat half a cup of oatmeal about 40 mins before i go to the gym or whatever class i have that day. i find i need to eat that much just to avoid fainting every time, which would be bad since i work out with my friends.

  15. YOu could definitely take a few bites of cheese string and that should suffice. It'll keep you from passing out.
